– Foreign affairs minister Julie Bishop has slammed as “irresponsible” former federal minister Wyatt Roy’s decision to travel to the Iraq-Syria border, where he says he was caught up in an IS attack on Peshmerga forces, in an area which brought him close to an exclusion zone which could have seen him jailed on return to Australia.SBS reported on Thursday that, according to Mr Roy, he became embroiled in an assault by around 15 IS insurgents took place in Domez near the town of Sinjar west of Mosul last Thursday.Mr Roy told SBS veteran reporter Jana Wendt from the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan: “The danger of a 50-cal bullet, or if they had bigger RPGs, or a mortar round hitting us was pretty serious so we had to stay where we were.
