Onondaga County has issued a travel advisory that lasts until midnight on Saturday warning that hazardous weather that will make travel difficult.
The National Weather Service issued a lake effect snow warning until Saturday at 6 p.m. as 4 to 6 inches are expected to fall in Onondaga County.
It also issued a wind chill warning until Sunday at 7 a.m.
In addition, the National Weather Service issued a “treacherous evening commute” warning.
Roads are expected to be slick and the combination of snow and wind could create whiteout conditions.

Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts said the advisory will take effect at 4 p.m. Friday as a result of the National Weather Service’s Lake effect snow warning.
A travel advisory does not restrict travel, but warns drivers that driving conditions are hazardous.
The no unnecessary travel advisory does not restrict travel either.
