EL PASO, TX — A man from El Paso has tested positive for the Zika Virus contracted after traveling to Miami — marking the first case in Texas of someone getting the virus after traveling within the continental U.S. — health officials said in a news conference on Monday.Texas Department of State Health Services officials said this marks the first Texas case of Zika virus that can be linked within the continental U.S., a case now being investigated as “travel-associated.””Health officials linked this case to Miami travel after closely evaluating travel dates, symptom onset date and known local transmission of Zika virus in Miami,” health officials said in a news advisory.
